Overview
St. Pius X School offers a daily hot-lunch program adhering to the guidelines of the National School Lunch Program. Meals are prepared on-site in our fully equipped kitchen and pre-packaged, processed foods are avoided as much as possible in favor of made-from-scratch items.

Meal Options
Students may chose daily between a main hot lunch item or an alternate hot lunch item. A cold lunch (sack lunch) may also be brought from home.
Lunch Menu
The monthly lunch menu is posted on the school web site to plan for meals in advance. For children, the school lunch program provides a nutritious meal that contains 1/3 of the recommended dietary allowance of necessary nutrients. For parents, the program offers a convenient method of providing a nutritionally balanced lunch. For schools, the program enhances children's learning abilities by contributing to their physical and mental well being.
If a 4th or 5th grade child wants second helpings of the main menu item (when available) $.50 will be deducted from their lunch account. Students must have a positive balance in their lunch account to purchase seconds.
Milk
One carton of milk is included in a school lunch. Extra milk may be purchased. Kindergarten students have a milk-break during the school day. Water or 100% juice are acceptable at lunch, however any other beverages such as soda are not permitted.
Eat lunch with your student
Parents are welcome to join their child for lunch. Parents must contact the school office by 9:00 am that morning, so we can prepare enough food for the day. The cost is $3.00 , which must be paid in the school office before entering the serving line. Lunches brought in from fast-food restaurants are not allowed. This applies for students and adults.
Allergies
If your child has any allergies to food and/or drink please provide a physicians written note stating all known allergies before the first day of school. (refer to allergy policy)
Free/Reduced Lunch
Applications for free or reduced lunch are available anytime during the school year. This program is strictly confidential.
