Scrip Policy - Board of Education
Through the use of Scrip, families generate about $30,000 - $40,000 of annual third source income to St. Pius X School! Without the Scrip program, tuition costs would raise significantly. Participation in Scrip is voluntary, however, because of the positive financial impact on the school, the Board of Education has enacted the following policy:
Whereas the SCRIP committee feels that those who use SCRIP on a regular basis are subsidizing everyone's tuition, the Board of Education voted that a $125 SCRIP fee be assessed to each family. Beginning May 1, 2011, the first $125.00 of profit from the sale of SCRIP will go to the school and after reaching this threshold then 65% of the profit will go back to parents toward tuition for the next year and the school will retain 35%. Beginning with the 2012-2013 school year, $125.00 will be added to the tuition of those families who did not reach the $125.00 requirement during the previous school year. Any family whose SCRIP purchases benefit to the school was at least $125.00 for the preceding SCRIP fiscal year will be exempt from the SCRIP fee. For those who do not use SCRIP to that level or not at all, the $125.00 will become part of the school's third source income.
